Bicycle City has reached a one-year agreement with the League of American Bicyclists for the top sitewide sponsorship of their website. This site receives more than 100,000 unique visitors per month.

Milestones
- April 1992 – Bicycle City was presented to the American Graduate School of International Management – Thunderbird.
- May 2006 – Joe Mellett and his partners sell PWP LLC, an online education directory business, to Monster Worldwide, providing the funding to get the Bicycle City communities project off the ground.
- April 2008 – The Bicycle City team announces their plans to the world through a presentation and exhibit at the EcoCity World Summit in San Francisco, California.
- August 2008 - Bicycle City started accepting reservations for its very first community.
